The Western Los Angeles County Council currently supports more
than 7,000 volunteer adults providing scouting programs to more
than 30,000 youth.
The Western Los Angeles County
Council serves young people from Edwards Air Force Base in the
North to Los Angeles Airport in
the South, and from Ventura County line in the West to Sylmar,
San
Fernando and North Hollywood in the East.
Geographically, the Council is comprised of six districts:
- Antelope Valley-
serving from Edwards Air force Base to Santa Clarita Valley
border
- Bill Hart - serving all of the Santa Clarita Valley
- Cahuenga - serving
the eastern area of the San Fernando Valley, west of the city
of Burbank
to Sepulveda
Boulevard
- Balboa Oaks - serving
the central area of the San Fernando Valley, west of Sepulveda
Boulevard
and east
of Corbin Avenue
- Las Colinas - serving
communities of the San Fernando Valley, west of Corbin to the
Ventura
County line
at Westlake Village.
- Crescent
Bay - serving from Mulholland Drive
south to Playa Del Rey and Culver
City, and from Ventura
County line to Beverly Hills.
In addition to the geographic districts that provide traditional
scouting programs, we also have a special scouting program.
- Urban Emphasis - serving 10 schools in
hard-to-serve year round school areas. Urban Emphasis Scouting
is designed to bring the
Scouting program to boys where the traditional method of providing
Scouting programs do not adequately meet the needs of the youth.
